About
Wonani Simpemba is a young Zambian community leader, educator, and entrepreneur born and raised in Luanshya. He is contesting the local government elections as the United Party for National Development (UPND) Councillor candidate for Nkoloma Ward in the Roan Constituency of Luanshya. Having previously operated a small shop at the Roan Market and served as the Secretary of the Ward Development Committee (WDC) for Nkoloma Ward, he campaigns under the youth movement slogan "Lekeni Youth Atekeh!" (Let the youth lead!).
Priorities
Ward Infrastructure Upgrades: Directing immediate municipal resources to clear blocked sewer lines, upgrade bad neighborhood roads, clear tall grass safety hazards during the rainy season, and resolve irregular garbage collection.Equitable Empowerment and Selection: Eradicating the unfair distribution of local empowerment opportunities and ensuring transparent selection processes for civic community programs so that all residents benefit equally rather than a few.Fair Access to CDF Resources: Pledging to facilitate open, non-discriminatory access to local Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loans, grants, and youth empowerment initiatives.Resident and Accountable Leadership: Pushing back against absentee leaders by prioritizing a locally based council presence where the representative resides directly within the ward to listen and act swiftly on community grievances.
