Kawina Paul Poho is a Zambian public health specialist, health informatics professional, and political leader. He is currently running as an independent Member of Parliament (MP) candidate for Solwezi Central in the upcoming 2026 general elections under the campaign slogan "Unlocking Solwezi Central's Potential." Professionally, Poho holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He has built a career in health research and monitoring and evaluation (M&E), serving as a Health Informatics Lead. His technical background includes extensive work in infectious diseases, data management, and public health programming within Zambia. In May 2026, Poho officially launched his political campaign as an independent candidate, adopting the Borehole as his campaign symbol. His platform centers on a 6-point development agenda tailored to Solwezi Central. This agenda prioritizes clean water access, youth empowerment through sports and education, healthcare improvements, infrastructure development, and enhanced local governance.
