About
Busiku Nancy Mpongo is a 26-year-old youth leader, National Youth Secretary for the Socialist Party, and aspiring Councillor for Ngwerere Ward 22. Passionate about community development and social justice, she is contesting the 2026 General Election with a vision of empowering women and young people while improving access to essential services. She believes that inclusive leadership, grassroots engagement, and investment in people are the foundation of a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Ngwerere Ward 22.
Priorities
Women Empowerment: Promote economic empowerment initiatives, equal opportunities, and support programmes that enable women to become self-reliant. Youth Development: Restore hope among young people through mentorship, rehabilitation, skills training, youth support groups, and employment opportunities. Water & Sanitation: Improve access to clean water by expanding water pipelines and advocating for reliable water supply across the ward. Sewer Infrastructure: Champion the planning and development of modern sewer systems to improve sanitation and reduce disease outbreaks such as cholera. Healthy Communities: Advocate for improved public infrastructure and environmental health to ensure safe and dignified living conditions for all residents. Inclusive Community Leadership: Strengthen citizen participation in local governance and ensure development priorities are driven by the needs of the community.
